The Service Journey - The Way They Make You Feel Contest
There are certain stores or restaurants I frequent because of the way they make me feel. They make me feel welcome and treat me as if they value my business. They also make it easy and pleasant to do business with them. Where do you shop or eat that you spend more than you know you should, but they make you feel great when you do? Tell us where you shop or eat and how they make you feel in four sentences or less and your name will be added to a monthly drawing for a free signed copy of The Service Journey.

As a follow up to today's blog entry, I love shopping at Brighton Collectibles. They always ask me if I would like a coffee or a bottled water (and the bottled water has a cute Brighton label on it). They serve fresh cookies and wrap up my purchases in a pretty bag with a matching ribbon. They come around the counter to personally hand me my package and to wish me a good rest of my day. The positive shopping experience is worth the cost of the jewelry!

Sue, you're absolutely right about shopping / buying from someone you like who makes it a pleasure to do business with them. As example, Tracy and I frequent Oakland Pizzeria (Oakland, NJ). They're much more than pizza, have a great red sauce on their pasta dinners, menu items are modestly priced (some downright bargains), have a bright, open dining area, and top it off with a crack staff of servers that are attentive, yet not intrusive. I don't know how they do it, but they earn a 20% tip every time.

I regularly eat at my favourite restaurant called Campagne in Kilkenny, Ireland. In addition to the amazing food, the service leaves a lasting impression that ensures you want to come back. Nothing is too much trouble and the staff seem to know what you are thinking just before you have to ask for anything. Overall, the food and service combined deliver a fantastic experience.
